Egyszer, amikor pár hónapig volt egy biciklim, kitaláltam, hogy mekkora lenne eltekerni Nyíregyházáig. Az út hosszát kb. két-három napra saccoltam. Tervem hallatán ismerőseim fele megmosolygott, másik (nagyobbik) fele hangosan kiröhögött. Végül a biciklim épp az RNR666 főszerkesztőségbe tartva félúton meghalt alattam. Azóta, mind a kerékpározásról, mind a Nyíregyre tekerésről lemondtam.

The Magnetix is a French garage rock’n’roll duo. On the occasion of their 15th anniversary they have released 3 EPs on 3 different labels this year. 3 simple questions about records to Looch Vibrato:

What was the first own record in your life? 

Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee – Back Country Blues. I was 14 years old, I was with a friend and found it in his father’s disco a blast… 1 year after my uncle gave me an harmonica and I started to play blues music with guys more older than me, it sounded like shit white blues. 2 years after I’ve discovered the „real white blues” with Animals. At this time it was a new kind of music for me with Standells, Seeds, Yardbirds, Remains,  Music Machine etc…, in the same time I listened to Syd Barrett .

Note: Sonny Terry (1911-1986) was a blind blues harmonica player, Brownie McGhee (1915-1996) was a singer and guitarist. They were a pair since 1942 and played Piedmont blues. It’s differentiated from other styles by its ragtime-based rhythms.

Which record made the biggest influence on you?

In a first time, like i said a lot of 60’s bands, and a record like „V.U.” Velvet Underground, „Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” Pink Floyd or „Closer” Joy Division change a lot of things in my vision of music, but 1 concert change really my life to play, The Mummies in Bordeaux in 1994, wild, raw, kick my ass, i thought ” I want to do mess like that”

What was the last record that you heard?
The last best one for me is Cyclops Reap by White Fence.
