“Clppng: make party music for the club you wish you hadn’t gone to, the car you don’t remember getting in, and the streets you don’t feel safe on.”
After the end of Death Grips, maybe the Clipping from LA is the number one noise hop band. They’ve recorded 2 songs together with special unknown guest stars, e.g. Signor Benedick The Moor. This digital single is free

Is it a one man label or are there a bunch of fanatics?
We’re three people, Mric, Anthony and Marion.
How does it started and when?
It started more than 10 years ago, in 2002, because Room 204, one of Mric’s band, needed a structure, for administration, stuff and, of course, a first disc. Room 204’s drummer had this band that should be released for the world to hear, so we had a second release. Then this other friend had a musical project and, it’s not all so complicated to release albums, isn’t it . In a few years, without really deciding it, we were a label. The real decision was to go on with it.
What was the first release?
Room 204 (minimal jazz rock) is the first album with the name Kythibong on it, but it’s a co-production. Argument (noise rock) was the first release we did alone, as grown-up assuming themselves.
What were the big (or little) surprises, disappointments and mistakes?
Mistake and disappointment cannot really happen the way Kythibong functions. When we release something there is always good-enough reasons for it, a mixture of human-music complicity and, if we’re happy when a lot of other people agree with us that an album is awesome, we’re also fine when it’s not the case. And we love pile up CD boxes to play stronghold and knights. As for surprises, let’s say we’re always a bit surprised that people still want to work with us.
Can you play on any instruments? Have you ever been in a band?
Mric is the only one of us who can play on a guitar with some efficient results. He has two bands, Papaye and Room 204 (math rock/arith-metal), both on Kythibong, because we have no other choices if we want to avoid any big family drama. But actually, they are super great bands, so it’s ok. We’re lucky.
What do you do beside the music business?
Kythibong. And beside Kythibong, Mric is a musician, Anthony has a record shop and Marion is a screen-printer.
What are your upcoming releases?
Up coming next: an EP from The Healthy Boy and the Badass Motherfuckers (always raining)
a new LP from Gratuit (electro-pop) and somewhen soon a super surf album by a newcomer on Kythibong Les Agamemnonz.
Kythibong? What or Who is it?
We forgot, it was too long ago.

The starter of publication of sci-fi literature in Hungary, writer and poet Peter Kuczka has written in one of his poem: „We’re just sex organs.” He was a convinced communist until a countryside tour in 1953. During this he so deeply disappointed in the ideology’s practice and practitioners, that became a forbidden writer for many years. „Just stupid assholes everywhere around me” – he could think. And I think the same, if I read the Hungarian press, or see the electoral campaign’s posters.
You’ve got only a limited time alive, so you’ve got to use your imagination. Otherwise, you’ll die of boredom, quick.

Life is too short not to fill it with real things.
Jeanette Winterson

So, what can you do this autumn? Evening closes in fast already these days, the shadows on the streets turn blue quickly, then disappear. You realize that sometimes you’re listening to your own bones as they wait for the cold to creep into the days and slowly conquer them. And there is a special day.
The 4 of October has been the remembrance day of Saint Francis of Assisi for quite a long time. You know him for sure, the guy who wrote that strangely serene, yet beautiful hymn which you probably didn’t read, and who’s famous for preaching to the birds. That’s cute, isn’t it? You can visualize him instantly in faded sepia colors, as if he has just stepped out of a Zeffirelli flick, walking barefoot on the thick grass of a luscious park, stopping at a pomegranate tree to tell something really important, very poetic and easy to remember about God’s goodness (p.e. „Lookee here, God is good, capisci?”) to the nightingales and robins. There should even be a flamingo standing nearby, eavesdropping. Right? Fuck that.
Frances was a genuinely cool kid, so first he tried to help his fellow men and guide them. His original plot was to preach to his people and make them repent and then, you know, redemption, eternal life in God’s loving light and all that stuff. Only he realized that his people didn’t give a shit about any of those. On top of that, after graciously accepting his help they robbed him too, just to be on the safe side, and even would have killed him, if that was possible. So, when he admitted that his neighborhood was filled with dead men who were still walking and doing harm, he chose the nicer dead, and off he went to the cemetery, which at those times was more like an open-air person-rotting plot, not resembling at all to the very pleasingly landscaped parks which we know as cemeteries nowadays. There the dead were basically lying around and rotting silently, occasionally being chewed or bitten by this animal or that, but at least they did not kill each other any more. So there was this hippyesque kid immersed in conversation with these carcasses, and there were the crows too, nibbling on the eyes of the same carcasses. That’s how the legend started, anyway. You can take it for a fact.
Their songs’ themes are determined by a special circumstance. The founder, vocalist and accordionist, Martyn Jacques spent much of his early years living above a brothel in London’s Soho. His songs describe pimps, prostitutes, drug addicts, losers and other unsavoury characters in their lurid details. And these details are so commonly lurid, and the words are so vulgar, that often some audience members walk out of his shows. „It’s always funny when people are offended by what I do … after all, I’m just an entertainer” – said Jacques, who dropped out of theology and philosophy course for the sake of music.
They frequently convert literary works. For example: Hoffman – Der Struwwelpeter (as Shockheaded Peter), Brecht / Weill – The Threepenny Opera (as Two Penny Opera), or Frank Wedekind – Lulu (as Lulu – A Murder Ballad). Furthermore they have written a musical comedy about life of Mozart.

The story of Harry Merry has started at his aunt’s pub in Delft. As a little boy there he gazed at a juke-box. “I was hypnotized by all these vinyl-singles constantly rotating with those specifically coloured lable-etiquettes in the middle. (…) My most favourite ones were from Apple-records, Pye Records (especially the dark pink one) and CBS-records (the old orange one; not the ugly later one).”
Further determinative things of his life: piano lessons, The Beatles and Roland keyboards. “The musical genres that have been adopted by me on these keyboards are as follows: Rock’n’Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Beat, Ballads, Schlager, Latino, Chansons, Liedjes and lately also some Slovenian Pop and Serbian Turbo-folk.” Besides he is equally regularly being influenced by classical music from the likes of Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, Mahler and Sibelius. And works of Charles Dickens are also a source of inspiration for him. Listen!
The average, but famous Ariel Pink has covered his Steve Storm, but it matters little.
The next prefatory has been made originally for a psychedelic free jazz album review (which is under way), but it also goes well here in same way.

The horror has started with Iron Bonehead Records. It’s an obscure German vinyl only extreme metal label. I wrote a letter to them, that I would like to write reviews from some releases. At once I have been attached to promotion circle of the metal underground. Since then I get tons of free metal stuff. Horrible records every day from the whole world. The Swiss Bölzer was the only remarkable band with their avant-garde death metal. And I have become familiar with the Finnish Svart Records. Their range of audibility expands from free jazz to extreme metal, and there’re some good bands and records. For example
The names speak for theirselves: Hard Action, The Black Mass, Forced Kill. The first two play 70s style hard rock and roll with this difference that The Black Mass has a smack of black metal. While Forced Kill is „such as early Sodom, beer drinking Slayer”
