Dark and minimal industrial techno from Rome. Collaboration of a 10-piece techno big band Lunar Lodge and Mai Mai Mai. The latter is an experimental project by Toni Cutrone from noise rock band Hiroshima Rocks Around and wacky pop duo Trouble vs Glue. Amazing
„LL/MMM” LP and digital album on Love Blast Records (Italy)
with very poor fantasy – but can be said in their favour – not by the band.
Debut album this month.
Next show: Sept 13 with Bored Nothing (Aus) in Budapest, A38.

Her life was pretty vicissitudes. She has begun her singing career as a folk music performer in coffeehouses in 1964. Her first hit was „As Tears Go By” was written by Jagger, Richards and then Rolling Stones’ manager Andrew Loog Oldham. It was one of the first original compositions by Jagger and Richards, as until that point The Rolling Stones had chiefly been performing blues standards. Oldham locked Jagger and Richards in a kitchen in order to force them to write a song together: “I want a song with brick walls all around it, high windows and no sex.” The song was given to her. Later the Stones also recorded it.
As Jagger’s girlfriend in these years she made big impression on the Stones. For example she is co-author of Sister Morphine. First it was recorded by herself with Jagger, Ry Cooder, Jack Nitschze and Charlie Watts, and was released as B-side of her single in 1969.
Chaotic but melodic garage punk rock and roll with a little power pop edge. Their records were released on such labels as Burger, Suicide Squeeze, Volar or Goodbye Boozy Records. Their shows are incredible experience of rock and roll.
They were the fashionable rocker King Tuff backing band
By King Tuff they succeeded get into the toilet of Jack White (White Stripes, owner of Third Man Records). Matt said: Once we were at Third Man Records recording with King Tuff and Jack White’s toilet was really nice and it just stood out to me just as, like, a really nice toilet… it was just super beautiful, and I’ve always looked up to Jack White a lot. But when I saw his successful toilet I felt nothing but pure envy and jealousy because I wanted that nice of a toilet to sit on everyday, when I should have been like, “Oh wow this is over the top.” So I went back and told Thomas and we both pooped in it.
Audacity Euro Tour: Aug 28 – Sept 27: Germany, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Poland, Czech, Hungary, Austria, Italy, France, Belgium, UK

Not many people can front a rock band, sing Górecki’s Third Symphony, lead a marching band processional down the streets of the Sundance film festival and perform in a baroque opera of their own composing — all in a month’s time. But Shara Worden can. She came from a musical family of traveling evangelists, went on to study operatic voice and then classical composition not only in the States, but also in Moscow, where she made her first records. Since 2006 she has been making art pop records under the name of My Brightest Diamond. And there were many collaborations with such artists as Laurie Anderson, David Byrne & Fat Boy Slim, Sufjah Stevens, Prefuse 73, Recoil, Bon Iver, The Blind Boys of Alabama and more.
„This Is My Hand” album on LP,CD, digital on Asthmatic Kitty (US)
She also in a very famous artist Matthew Barney’s brand new cine-opera, the „River of Fundament„, together with Salman Rushdie, Mike Tyson, Debbie Harry and Zeena Parkins, but it’s „such a mess that I sincerely hope I will never have to endure a second viewing” – wrote a critic.
The beauty of it is that she was born in El Dorado

Fall season has kicked off with Tuesday night’s Küss Mich party in Kontra Club, under Trafó, as expected from what the organizers had forecast in personal channels as a Goodbye Summer/Welcome Fall gig .

Gran’s volume on his guitar-qua-synth distortion – while he frequently changed instruments – got due amplification if you went front stage, right where he was rolling on the floor throughout the last few tracks (without his guitars by the time). Of all the Tuesday night Budapest audience, photographers gave the most active response to his performance of wriggling and contortion, even as he was hollering about dancing in the darkroom (?) – I imagined this must be hell of a party to jerk on the floor to, in a darkened room. Nao Katafuchi came the longest way to RNR666 ears – perhaps the reason you kept hearing imaginary Bowie songs Bowie himself failed to write at the end of the 70’s as well as in the late 90’s. The Argentinian duo of a girl -doing the soundcheck in a ’Brasilia’ shirt- and a bass player, the Mueran Humanos, thankfully, sounded like two South Americans bringing something to order of the day European synthpunk, more than an American synthpunk taste borrowing from Europe. It’s a strange mixture, unmistakeable after a few tracks, like Ratos de Porao’s HC. For a simple Tuesday partygoer, there’s only one way to get to the words accompanying this curious North-by-South music: if there’s anyone in the room undeterred by Chilean miner lingo, with an ear for Mueran Humanos lyrics as well. They will tell you that such lines ring in the ears of a Spanish speakers – in a usual militant tone, with the discipline of a sworn alliance:
„No puedes entrar en el círculo / No puedes respirar nuestro aire”
„You can not enter the circle / You can not breathe our air”

Interview with the boss, don Gabriele

Is it a one man label or are there a bunch of fanatics?
I am Gabriel and Goodbye Boozy Recs. is a one-man label, with a lot of fanatic friends who help me buying my release by spreading them all over the world and I’m very grateful to all of them!!! I am very happy to know that the few copies I put out are going to all these „fools”!!
How does it started and when? What was the cause?

If you’re a frequent visitor on our site, I’m sure that you know Reverend Beat-Man and his record label, Voodoo Rhythm Records. He has been nominated for the Swiss Music Prize, which will be awarded for the first time on 19 September. Among the nominates also are the folk-punk band Mama Rosin, and the avant-garde music group Ensemble Phoenix Basel, in which you can find Alex Buess, who is also member of the experimental space rock trio MIR.
„My biggest idol has always been Batman, so everyone just called me Beat-Man.
Now my name is just Beat-Man, even in my passport.”
Born Beat Zeller in 1967 near Berne, Reverend Beat-Man has become a firm fixture on the music scene. He first tried his hand as a singer and musician at the age of 13 before forming his band The Monsters in 1986 and setting up his own record label Voodoo Rhythm Records in 1992. With The Monsters, Zeller created an entirely new genre that fuses psychobilly with garage punk and went on to showcase it with more than a thousand concerts in South America, Japan, Australia, the US and the rest of the world. He attained cult status thanks in no small part to this work with Voodoo Rhythm Records, which has gained him a reputation as a resolute champion of innovative and experimental artists. In Switzerland, his achievements were honoured with the Canton of Berne Special Recognition Award in 2007.
A short film has been made about Beat-Man on the occasion of his nomination
„We are all mountain people with weird, hard, heavy and strange ideas.”
„to be on stage with Howlin’ Wolf once
that would have been the greatest for me.”
„The Rolling Stones today (…) just shit, Mick Jagger and such, boring as hell.”

Susan from LA. Indie guitar pop with garage rock taste. Quite like a band from the better ones on Slumberland Records. Sometimes so good like the Breeders. Drummer from Texan garage rock band Cowabunga Babes, and its garage punk side project The Vomettes.

+ cassette with 2 more songs on Burger Records (US)

The Canadian quartet New Swears play Black Lips-like garage rock’n’roll while they name the infamous, hyper dirty ultra sexual rap gang, 2 Live Crew as influence. I think no need to say more:

Two London based bands
an all female post punk noise rock band with French singer and Turkish bassist:
Savages (Matador Records) &
an all Japanese psychedelic rock band, similar to another Japanese band, Boris:
Bo Ningen
are in a special collaboration

London 2012. Savages are recording the debut album. In the middle of an intense three weeks, they set out one evening to see the band Bo Ningen. A few days later producer Johnny Hostile begins to muse over the possibility of two bands playing in the same space at the same time. Concurrently Gemma Thopson of Savages is reading about the performances at the Cabaret Voltaire.
“Zurich in 1916 and Hugo Ball is instrumental in creating the Cabaret Voltaire – a club which will become central to the performances of the Dada movement, during which the artists would experiment with forms of sound poetry and simultaneous poetry. A movement created through the horror of World War One, it attempts to understand how society has reached such an illogical decision. Through simultaneous poetry begins the attempt to delve into chaos and maelstrom, to find the voice of the individual struggling to be heard. We decide to approach Bo Ningen with the idea of collaborating on a Sonic Simultaneous Poem.”
The idea begins to take shape in early 2013, they prepare for both bands to rehearse together in a studio with a loose composition based around five chapters. As the musicians of both bands consider how to apply themselves with their instruments to each chapter – revolving, colliding and intertwining with words sang in Japanese, French and English. They also envisage the physical space in which to perform.
„We imagine a stage in a large u-shape to contain as much of the audience as possible in the centre. The two drummers next to each other at the ‘bottom’ of the u, then leading around symmetrically (facing each other): guitarists, bassists and singers at the tips of the u-shape. Bo Ningen have a guitar extra, so we hang one from the ceiling to hit as you would a gong. Eventually we fix a date and a space for what we believe is a one-off performance that we name „Words To The Blind.” It was performed at The Red Gallery, London on May 29th 2013. The 37-minutes long track will be released on November 17th by Stolen Recordings (UK) and Pop Noire Records (France).
Snippets from the performance
They will do it again together this on 19 November at the Oval Space, London.
