There is the network of Finnish Cultural Institutes at promoting the Finnish language and culture in the world. Just a call or a mail: Excuse me Ms/Mr Korhonen, do you know the finenesses of unique Finnish hardcore-punk?
The Speedy Wunderground is a very interesting label and studio in London. In accordance with the founder’s order:
All records of the label will be recorded at their own studio. The musicians, the producer and engineer are together in one room, with no control room. The recordings of the label’s all releases will be done in one day and finishing before midnight. The core of each song will be a live take recorded in the dark with smoke and lazers and somewhere on each record the Swarmatron will make an appearance. Mixing will be done the next day, also in one day only. Furthermore there will be no lunch break during the recording and mixing. The recordings will appear in limited runs of 250 7”s as soon as humanly possible. The founder, Dan Carey will produce all releases.
He has previously produced Franz Ferdinand, Bat For Lashes, TOY, Willy Mason, Django Django, Emiliana Torrini, The Kills, Chairlift and Steve Mason (aka: King Biscuit Time and Black Affair). Now here is the founder’s own project under the name of Scotti Brains. Taking their name from a shared love of San Franciscan psych band Bunny Brains and his cat. Psychedelic noisy indie guitar music:

The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench,
a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free,
and good men die like dogs.

Son of Ecuadorian immigrants in the Latin-American bustle of South-Florida. The sounds of tropical nature and environment arouse his interest, for example: the sound of subwoofers in the cars, the howling music of portable stereos, the uproars of night parties. He looks on every device as musical instrument. He feels strange attraction to the owls. He calls himself Black Ice Cream.
„We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain.” (Huxley). With the Island Universe Story series, Helado Negro has set out to chart new constellations and family lineage for the lonely souls and stars of the deep universe of existence. In latin experimental style:

Hey guys! You’re Mr. Elevator and The Brain Hotel! You’re doin’ fuckin’ good things! What’s the style?
Hey, thanks man! The style? I guess if you combined a lot of hair, burritos, and bad jokes all at once in a weird magical spell it’d come out being somewhat of something like us….
You make many kinds of music like garage-psych-glam-pop-punk-rock in other bands as Feeding People, Cosmonauts*, Peach Kelli Pop, etc. How came the idea of the new style and band?
Mr. Elevator, like Moses, was a calling to us from a burning bush. A female’s burning bush.
Your music reminds me of The Doors and the Silver Apples (are an American pioneer psychedelic synth-drums duo. The group was active between 1967 and 1969. Reformed in 1996. – editor’s note), but sometimes the Madness come to my mind too. What is your opinion?
All great bands man. There are very few bands that really gave light to what an organ or just piano related instruments can do and sound like. Ray did a very fine job though.. RIP (e.n: Ray Manzarek was the organ player of The Doors. He passed away on May 20.)
Your name is very strange LSD-flavored. Were there some other alternatives?
We started actually as an all water zodiac signed jam band called Tropical Fish. Played a handful of shows with that name and a very obscure set of songs hahah but the name is actually a reference to a Donovan song. The ultimate musical mystic!
Your brilliant 1st LP is coming soon or…?
Soon! We’re re-recording what we just worked on the past few months because it just didn’t come out how we envisioned it. We have so many songs and not one album yet.. so expect a little something soon
Please offer some favorite local bands!
Froth! Mystic Braves! (Formerely known as Blackfoot Braves.) Jeffertiti’s Nile! Cool Ghouls! too many man good local music everywhere these days
And now please tell me a bizarre or a funny or a weekday story that happened in your circles nowadays!
Running Lolipop Records in Echo Park, we get a lot of strange encounters with homeless/batshit crazy folks. All ranging around supreme racial pride, death threats, and lactose intolerant homeless
What is your message to the readers?
You’re right where you ought to be why can’t you ever see everything you want is right here.

At first there was an unlucky name: Pangea. It has changed to a stupid one: together Pangea. Bay area garage hard rock’n’roll.

The Bilders are groups of various musicians and friends. The New Zealander writer and musician, Bill Direen stands in the centre of the groups. The new album has released under the name of Bill Direen & the Hat. The performers are: Hamish Kilgoure (The Clean, NZ), David Watson (musician & experimental music scene organizer, NZ), Miggy Littleton (Blood On The Wall, US). The tracks range from garage pop to acoustic-electric assault. You can find among those 1-1 poems by W.B. Yeats and Ezra Pound.

Long, long years ago we found this absolute gem, this flower oozing its sad, deathly odour and we didn’t know anything about her but that her music is like the wildest fuck of your life while your body is fueled by the hardest hallucinogenic drugs and after you came, your head is chopped down by an axe.
A new music video was shot for her best song:
Please enjoy Venus Fly Trap One Girl Band
&
dying to its rhythm!
here’s the first video of Tumo, a band from the members of the late-but-beloved Lömbihead!
Megint jönnek means ‘they are coming again’ and the song is a slight shift from the kind of mental punk, for which they used to be either adored or hated by the punk audience.
this new Tumo track is more influenced by moody noise rock and it’s right off from their first demo, give it a listen at the bandcamp site or at one of their raging gigs if you’re around
so, everyone cheer up, Sebő and Kele, the duo of notorious cult fame is back!

Recordings from the 1969-1971 Self Portrait and New Morning albums’ sessions.
The versions of the songs are radically different from the officially released versions.

“Tomorrow Is A Long Time” is a well-known song,
thanks to covers by Elvis Presley (1966), Rod Stewart and others,
but only a live version from 1963 released by Dylan.
