This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store – the staff, the customers, and the artists – to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day, hundreds of artists make special appearances and performances since 2007. Record Store Day will be on April 19 this year.

Thee Oh Sees announced their hiatus in December, but there happened something because the new album “Drop” will be released on Record Store Day by Castle Face Records. 70s psychedelic rock from Beatles to Black Sabbath via glam station.

The band formed as a side project in 1997 by John Dwyer. Then he was in the Coachwhips (wild garage punk, disbanded, re-united this year), The Hospitals (noise rock, quit) and Pink and Brown (noise punk, disbanded). Maybe John Dwyer is an hyperactive person, because there was a solo album under the name of Damaged Bugs in February.
